What forms of payment are accepted?

Appointments and Consultations

How long does a consultation last, and what do we cover in an initial consultation?

Our initial consultation is usually approximately one hour in length. We will cover goals, the aggressiveness of the planning approach, pre-existing concerns, allergies, food preferences, training style, and purpose. It also provides a great time to assess how I think the best way to coach you on your journey will be.

What can you expect from an initial consultation, and what should you do before your appointment?

A general rundown of the nature of my offering and an insight into my coaching approach. I will need a three-day food diary that includes everything you eat and drink. This diary needs to conclude on at least one weekday and one weekend day. It is needed for the consultation but will need to be provided before we can structure your plan. The consultation is also a great opportunity to test the depth of my knowledge and reassure you that you are in safe hands.

How many appointments or sessions are needed?

Generally, only the initial consultation is required, but as your goals change or major life changes occur, we will meet again to discuss and recalibrate planning where necessary. I don’t believe in meetings for the sake of meetings; we are all busy and have a life to run. It is best to over-service on messaging and email responses and answer questions as required rather than force a structured catch-up when answers are better promptly in writing.

Do you offer video or phone calls with clients?

I am happy to meet with clients outside of Christchurch via Zoom. For anyone local, my strong preference is to meet in person for your initial consultation.

Do you coach families and children?

We offer a couples concession package for couples working together on the plan. I am happy to provide any adults on my plan with suggestions for helping their children. Ethically I won’t coach children under the age of 16 and place them on diet for aesthetic reasons. I will only consider taking on people under 16 if they use my services to assist with a competitive sport. This is an important distinction in the reason for being on the diet.

Meal Plans and Nutrition

Do you provide custom meal plans, and what can you expect from a nutrition plan?

Yes, we only provide bespoke custom planning. We do not currently provide generic plans.

Do you provide workout plans alongside nutrition?

Yes, we can provide customised training plans to support your goals. We do not currently provide generic plans.

Who are the plans and packages suited for, and do you have to be an athlete?

Absolutely not. While we do coach several highly competitive athletes from various sporting codes, most clients are regular people looking to get healthy and improve their quality of life.

Do you work with people with chronic conditions, expecting or breastfeeding individuals?

Yes.  We have several clients who suffer from diabetes, Crohn's, IBS, endometriosis, and PMDD, to name but a few. Regarding expecting/breastfeeding mothers, we can provide nutritional advice but are limited in the supplements we can legally recommend.

Can you work with young, old, overweight, already fit, or inactive individuals?

Yes. Our current clients range in age from 14 to 72. Some start out with over 50% body fat, while others are already competitive athletes.  Because our plans are completely customised to the client, we aren’t restricted in who we can help.

Can you cater to specific dietary requirements and manage specific health issues through dieting (e.g., diabetes, menopause)?

Yes.  Our ability to manage these factors is one area that distinguishes our offering in the market.

How many macro changes do I get with my membership?

This is impossible to answer at the early stages. We will be conducting weekly reviews in the first month and fortnightly thereafter. Adjustments in your plan will come down to your body's response. We don’t pre-empt changes just to create the perception that we are doing more work. Determining that no movement in your plan is required is the same work as making a change.

Results and Expectations

How much does a program cost, and how much weight will I lose?

Our programs page includes costs that range from $39 to $79 per week. It is impossible to say how much weight you will lose until we review your initial biometric data. But after that meeting, we will be able to provide a strong indication of expected losses, provided you follow our planning precisely.

Is this a safe way to lose weight, and what results can be expected?

Yes. We will never put long-term health at risk for short-term weight loss. Our program is the most comprehensive data-backed program available. This data incorporates considerations from all pillars of health.

What level of commitment should you expect, and why are all the program stages important?

I will commit 100% to helping you achieve your goals; all I expect in return is 100% trust and adherence to the planning and advice given. Above all, in honesty, if you do slip up, I need you to help me review your results with all the data on hand. This means I don’t make changes to your plan with only half the picture.

Professional Distinctions and Services

Are you a medical doctor, and can you prescribe medications or make decisions about them?

No, I am not. That is made clear in all our contracts and policies. Our services are not here to replace your doctor. We are here to help you lead a healthy life, so you hopefully don’t have to visit your doctor as frequently.

Do you recommend supplements and sell nutritional supplements to the public?

Yes, we make specific recommendations on supplementation. This is another area where we have deep industry experience beyond most others. Our nutritional service does not directly sell supplements; however, we do sell supplements via our other companies Supplement Solutions and Inception Labs. Some recommended supplements will need to be purchased from a chemist.
