Methodology and approach

How your information informs the plan, and where coaching fits alongside medical care.

Dietitians are regulated health practitioners working in prevention and clinical nutrition. We provide nutrition and training coaching with body composition tracking, alongside your GP or dietitian, not instead of their care.

Your report brings together your scan, food intake, training and health history. It includes a meal plan, macro and micronutrient targets, supplement recommendations where appropriate, and body composition goals, not guaranteed predictions.

AI assists the first draft using the information supplied for your report. Dr Walley reviews the output before it reaches you. AI supports organisation and analysis; it does not independently diagnose conditions or decide your care.

Weekly check-ins guide adjustments to food and training. Coaching includes a monthly rescan and re-plan, with scan arrangements adapted to your access. Longevity adds a quarterly comprehensive review.

Coaching logistics

How sessions, check-ins, and access actually work week to week.

No. We work online across New Zealand. Local clients can scan at Inception Gym; remote clients can start with available measurements and food records. A scan is not required to enquire or begin.

Share food records, training notes, available measurements and what changed that week. The coaching team reviews your progress and replies with adjustments or confirms the plan. A call can help when a fuller discussion is needed.

Nutrition and Combined include direct access to the coaching team. Longevity includes a direct line to Dr Walley. We confirm your contact arrangements during onboarding so you know who to message and where.

Body composition scanning

What the scan estimates, how often it is used, and its limitations.

BIA estimates segmental lean and fat mass, total body water, water distribution and a visceral fat index. These are calculated outputs, not direct images or measurements of muscle or visceral fat. Available outputs depend on the device.

The coaching programmes list monthly rescans. Agree arrangements for your location and available device during onboarding. Use similar preparation each time; frequent scans do not make small changes more accurate. How to interpret a scan

Weight can stay stable while fat and lean tissue change. BIA adds estimates, but cannot reliably separate every short-term shift in water, muscle or fat. A 1 kg scan change is not automatically a 1 kg tissue change.

Supplements

How supplements fit into a programme and where Inception Labs sits.

No. Supplements are optional. Where appropriate, we may recommend Inception Labs, our own brand, or an external product. Recommendations should address a specific need, not assume that every client needs supplements.

Inception Labs is our in-house supplement line. It is a separate product choice, not a requirement for coaching. Check each product's ingredients, directions and suitability before buying.

GLP-1 and medications

Working with us alongside GLP-1 agonists and other medications.

Yes. We support adequate protein, varied food intake and resistance training to help maintain strength and muscle during weight loss. Treatment may be long term; your prescriber decides whether and how medication changes.

Yes. Your GP or other prescriber manages medication and clinical concerns. We support nutrition, training and body composition monitoring alongside that care. Tell your prescriber about side effects or difficulty eating and drinking.

Weight regain is common after stopping, even after substantial earlier progress. Plan ongoing food, activity and monitoring support with your prescriber. Coaching can help with habits but cannot guarantee prevention of regain.Stopping GLP-1 treatment: what to consider

Longevity Programme

The premium, application-only twelve-month programme.

Adults aged 40 plus who already train and eat well and want structured support for long-term health and physical function. This application-only programme is designed for people ready to commit to twelve months of coaching.

Twelve months of nutrition, training and recovery coaching, monthly data review, quarterly comprehensive review and direct access to Dr Walley. Lab access and supplement arrangements are confirmed before enrolment.Explore Longevity and apply

The programme combines training, nutrition, recovery, sleep, stress support and supplementation, with quarterly review and lab results where available. Its value is ongoing support and adjustment, not a promise to reverse ageing.

Working with your GP

How we sit alongside your medical care.

Yes. We work alongside your GP, not in place of one. If you are managing a diagnosed condition, your GP needs to know that your nutrition programme is being adjusted so they can interpret your bloodwork in context.

No. You arrange testing through your GP or a private provider. Discuss which tests are appropriate and any costs before booking. Results can inform coaching, while diagnosis and clinical follow-up remain with your clinician.

No. We provide nutrition and body composition coaching, not diagnosis or medical treatment. Keep your GP or registered health practitioner involved in any diagnosed condition, symptoms or medication decisions.

Day-to-day support

Practical questions about sharing results, illness and everyday meals.

Yes. You can email the PDF or upload it through your client portal. Results can inform the next coaching review, but do not by themselves show what caused a change. Discuss abnormal results and clinical follow-up with your GP.

Not necessarily. Soft lean mass includes water and non-muscle tissues. Hydration can shift the estimate. Compare scans under similar conditions and review food intake, training and strength; one result cannot confirm muscle loss.

Rest rather than push through when unwell, and keep fluids and food up as tolerated. Do not automatically cut calories because you missed training. Update your coach; seek urgent care for chest pain or severe breathing difficulty.

Shakes and eggs can be convenient, but we cannot assume they cover your nutrient needs. Keep easy meals in the mix, such as eggs on toast with vegetables, yoghurt and fruit, or beans with microwave rice and frozen vegetables.

Email the coaching team or message Matt directly. The notice period and minimum commitment are explained under Refunds and cancellation.

Refunds and cancellation

How billing, pausing, and cancellation work.

After your minimum term, give at least seven days' written notice through the contact form or by email. Access continues to the end of the billing cycle; mid-cycle payments are not pro-rated. Statutory rights still apply.Read the programme terms

First-time coaching signups have a 14-day cooling-off period from first payment, less a reasonable charge for work already delivered. This is separate from the minimum term and does not limit your statutory rights.Cooling-off and refund terms

Yes. Travel, illness, or work pressure happens. Email the coaching team and we will pause billing for the agreed window. We carry your programme state forward so the restart is not a reset.

One-off plans are non-refundable for change of mind once delivered. This does not limit any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act. If unsure which plan fits, contact us before purchase.
